The English noun people (singular "person") refers to a plurality of human beings. It has two usages:
Because the word people often refers to abstract and general types of groups, the word persons is sometimes used in place of people, especially when it would be ambiguous with its collective sense (e.g. missing persons instead of people). It can collectively refer to all humans or it can be used to identify a certain ethnic or religious group. For example, "people of color" is a phrase used in North America to describe non-whites. Q. I find alot of people judge islam and muslim people when they don't even know what islam is. The media sends out negative messages of islam being a violent faith how can people judge when they don't know what the islamic teaching is. And they don't realise that islam is probably the only religion that is most anti-war and anti-crime. Its very irritating knowing thatso many people have fallen for the media's lies. Asked by eee - Sun Sep 6 08:45:46 2009 - - 14 Answers - 0 Comments A. *Sighs* Sorry, but the media doesn't paint all Muslims as violent; it points out that the extremists are a minority. However, claiming it to be the most anti-war is borderline fallacious; claiming it to be the most anti-crime is a flat-out falsehood. Islamic nations are home to some extreme examples of human rights abuse, especially as regards women's rights. Answered by Vincent K, Atheati Mad Scientist - Sun Sep 6 08:51:54 2009 What do people often forget to consider when choosing a breed? Q. What should people consider why starting to choose a breed? What is often overlooked when people fall in love with a breed? Does this generally happen because people don't consider it at all, or because they think they can make the dog adapt to it because they really want the breed even though it isn't a good fit? What were some of the worst breed choices you have seen people make? Asked by sciencechick - Mon Nov 17 17:23:29 2008 - - 15 Answers - 0 Comments A. The most overlooked would be the dog's energy level, grooming needs and basic breed characteristics. It's appalling to me that people think they can keep a breed like a german shepherd or border collie in an apartment. Or think a dog like a lab is good with a half hour walk a day. My pet peeve is people who buy a gorgeous, long-haired breed (afghans come to mind!), then keep their hair cut short because they're too bloody lazy to groom the dog. Then there's those who are dismayed because their terriers dig and bark, their beagles bay, etc. Too many people in this world of instant gratification are lacking the common sense to research a breed before getting it - then when they find they can't groom, train or exercise it, the dog ends… [cont.] Answered by walking lady - Mon Nov 17 17:39:57 2008 How do the people that live in Varansi and drink water from the Ganges and bathe in it stay alive?
Q. The Ganges is a literal sewer. It is completely black and septic. Every 7 kms there are 30 sewers pumping waste into it, and people dumb thousands of dead people, cattle, and dogs in it daily. People bathe in it, drink the water, go to the toilet in it and cook with the water! How are they not dead? And what about the people who fish the dead human carcasses from the river and eat them for religious purposes? How do they stay alive? Asked by o.O ! O.o - Thu Mar 12 06:50:53 2009 - - 8 Answers - 0 Comments A. Dear miss Sweet, the Scientists took a sample near the sewer opening and found the water "unfit for drinking" then he tested the water about 100 meters further and stated it " absolutely fit for drinking" That's my mother GANGA" and please don't call it a sewer, it hurts.
